April Fools Day

I like to think of April Fools Day as my pre-birthday. My mom found out she was having twins on April 1st 19somethinsomething.

Back then ultrasounds were only done if there were problems. Even though she had already had my brother and kept telling them this pregnancy was different no one listened.

When the actually did and saw there were two babies and not one she got to make some fun phone calls that day.

This year might not have been that epic but it was super close! Thanks to my good friend M. and a bunch of co-workers who know how to keep secrets, I had no idea what awaited me when I left work.

After I saw this, took some pictures I had to take the post it notes off my car. I kept going through a role call of who could have done it, I eventually came to the conclusion it was M.

I saw she had called, texted, and tagged me in a Facebook post. While I let her stew in uncertainty I went to the ABC store, picked up a bottle of her favorite rum, and drove to her house.

Once I was there she greeted me laughter and smiles and all I could do was say, "Well played ma'am, we'll played."

It was exactly what my day needed.

Lunch Time Escape

Sometimes for lunch I go hang out in my car.

It sounds sad but it allows me to nap, just have quite time or do what I'm doing now, play on my phone in a very slouched unflattering position.

Most of the time it is for naps.

When I was looking for a new car the design of the backseat was important. I needed to be able to lay down and bucket seats make that hard.

The key to napping in a car is ventilation. Keeping windows open in the summer and up tight in the winter. It is quite surprising how warm a car is at 50 degrees outside.

The doors!

Before

These doors were so ugly that when I first moved in my sister preferred curtains to these doors.

When she left I was tired of the dust bunny family that lived in the curtains so the doors went up. 

With the extra paint left over from the sun room I wasn't going to pass up the opportunity the hide the green. 

After 2 coats of paint they were no longer green!

So pretty!
