Beer Floats!

It was Saturday night. Dinner had been made and eaten. An episode of Bob's Burger's had been watched. Going to bed would have been the smart thing to do, but still in a relaxing mode, and my sweet tooth kicked in, I wanted ice cream.

New Dude and I checked a local advertisement for an ice cream parlor that was just down the road. Though it was close, I wasn't really in the mood to go out.

Plus, we had ice cream in the freezer that needed to be eaten. So I was like why don't we just stay here.

New Dude said yes, and then was like... how about we try those beer floats you've talked about before?

Win!

I have never had a beer float. I personally don't really care for the soda version too much, but like my desire to make a White Russian out of my morning bowl of cereal, so has the desire to make a beer float.

I had the time, I had the ingredients, and a second opinion to boot! Perfect. So we did, New Dude and I made beer floats.

We had a stout, which we assumed would probably taste better, but the only way we could fairly try it was to use a lager as well.

Dramatic lager picture for no reason.

So we tasted it. First a sip, then some ice cream, then some ice cream and beer.

The conclusion?

The stout tasted better. It had lot of foam but unlike the lager, the bitter and sweet went better. The lager was just a little too contrast for my taste buds. The small glass we had made was finished, because no one likes wasting beer OR ice cream, but if I tried it again, I'd go with a stout again.

Has anyone else tried beer floats before? What do you think? Lager vs Stout? Should I have tried an Ale or an IPA? Let me know with your thoughts below!

Iron Manness

Pew Pew
Today is Friday. Today is a fun day. Also, I keep writing posts but then don't post them because they are half finished. OR they are way too long and should probably broken into a few different sections.

So today's blog is just randomness from last weekend. I had gone to New Dude's Brothers house. They were doing some drinking and some gaming and while I took a break form running in circles, (I'm not so good at video games that don't involve Mario) I found this mask.

I then proceeded to play with said mask unknown that a video was taken. Pictures well aware of, pictures not so much. Anyway, it is kind of funny so enjoy.

This is me taking off from the ground.

Is it super geek of me to be wearing a Gryffindor shirt AND playing with an Iron Man Mask?

Half way through the Year

Back on January 1st of this year I posted my 2013 Resolutions. It now being June, it is about half way through the year, can you believe it?

I figured I'd take a moment and check in and see how I've done thus far.
  • Stop Multi-tasking Time with People
    • So far doing alright with this. Still over scheduling my time some days.
  • Read more books
    • Not doing so well with this one
  • Work less hours during the week
    • Eh still depending on the week
  • Start a career not just get another job.
    • Technically I have done this. I have a full time job with benefits and everything.
  • Cuss less.
    • I can honestly say I'm doing better.
  • Complete half marathon
    • Done!!!
  • Complete first Triathlon
    • Not yet, haven't even signed up yet....
  • Learn how to spell Triathlon
    • Not sure haven't tried in a while
  • Over think things less
    • Um... maybe?
  • Plan less while adventuring more
    • Kind of...still working on this one
  • Get more vitamin D by going outside more. I
    • Depends on the week
  • Laugh more
    • I could always use more laughter
  • Be more understanding
    • Yup, not sure about this one either. Where did I come up with these and why?
  • Apologize and own up to mistakes quickly and sincerely when they are made.
    • Yeah, I think I pretty much do this most days.
  • Learn to relax and chill.
    • New Dude is working with me on this one. He does this WAY better then I do.
I'm going to add seeing 135lb on the scales to this one though. I want to see it!

Alright, well that wasn't too painful. I think I have a ways to go for some and am doing well with others. Go me!

How about you? How are your New Year Resolutions going? With 6 months still left in the year are their any goals you have in mind? Vacations, trips, sports, events, goals you have left to accomplish?
