Library

Today's adventure was to the Library.

The other day, I went to go to the library I've been to many a time before but when I drove by it was closed. I was like what the.... aw really? Then I was bummed because no library and an empty building. I don't like empty buildings. They kind of make me sad. I was then telling my story of woe to the good people at work when they reminded me that they moved that library. Yeah for me! They built a new one. Well I had to go check this out.

On my lunch break I went to visit this new building. After turning the wrong way only once, which is quite an achievement for me, I drove around a roundabout and arrived at my destination. There it sat in a big parking lot nestled in the mountains. Anything sitting in mountains looks better.

They have a coffee shop drive through that isn't Starbucks, a drive through book drop off and a very big building. When I walk in I stop in the doorway and just look around. They have map of the building like they do in the malls. Instead of seeing JCPennys or Hot Topic I get to see Children's Section, Non-Fiction, Fiction and a quite area. Everything was open, bright, lacked the smell of old books. I wandered around not having any idea of what movies were good, books to read, and just looking around realizing how much I miss libraries. When I was little my goal was to be like Matilda and read all the books in my local library. I was smart enough not wear my squeaky shoes, but going up wooden steps, my high heels did click or rather clunk. Still haven't mastered heels yet. After wandering for most of my lunch, I picked two random non-fiction books. One about the mafia and one about how we waste food. I walked back down the check out counter. The librarian asked me if I found everything I was looking for. I told her I didn't know what I was looking for before I came in so I guess so. I told her it was my first time visiting. She was like I figured, you looked a little lost when you came in. Story of my life! Ha! Anyway, go be like Matilda an go read a book.
